Waiting List Policy
First of all, there is no cost to be placed on a puppy waiting list or lists. A waiting list is generated for each color / gender. Such as ~ Black Males, Black Females, Yellow Males, Yellow Females, Chocolate Males, and Chocolate Females. For litters that produce all three colors I normally accept 1 pick position per color / gender (1st picks). For litters that produce only two colors I normally accept 2 pick positions per color / gender (1st and 2nd picks). Two color litters will most likely be Black and Chocolate or Black and Yellow. For litters that produce only one color I normally accept up to 3 pick positions per gender or sex (1st, 2nd, and 3rd picks).
You can be on more than one waiting list ... such as Black Male and Chocolate Male, but keep in mind your pick position may be different for each color. The limit is only 2 waiting lists ... no more than two.
Occassionally, families / individuals will choose to be on a waiting list for a puppy from a specific dam and sire ... this waiting list is usually planned a year in advance and most likely those individuals will end up having 1st pick on their color / gender. Those that have been on a specific waiting list for the longest duration will have 1st pick ... that's if they wish to reserve a puppy after they are born.
New litter / puppy announcements generally go out 4 - 5 days after a litter is born. Those on the waiting list are contacted first ... 1st pick, 2nd pick, etc. ... in that order. I normally give families / individuals 24 hours to respond to my email / phone call in regards to reserving a puppy from the current litter or litters. If I don't receive a reply within 24 hours I will automatically assume the family / individual decided to pass on a puppy from the current litter or litters ... perhaps the timing wasn't perfect for them. No reply or response means they will be moved to the bottom of the waiting list.
Example : There are a total of 5 families on the Black Male waiting list. If 1st pick Black Males doesn't respond in 24 hours then 2nd pick is moved up to the 1st pick position and so on. The original 1st pick would automatically be moved to 5th pick. In other words, by not replying within 24 hours you will lose your original pick position. If someone decides to pass on a specific litter I'd appreciate a response as this keeps the waiting lists current.
On average the waiting time for a puppy is 3 - 6 months depending on color / gender. Waiting for a Chocolate Male or Female can sometimes take up to 12 months (1 year), but generally it is a little less than that. If you would like to be placed on a specific waiting list or lists, I'd be glad to take your name, etc. ... even if the waiting list or lists are full. Waiting lists can change with any given litter ... a specific color / gender wasn't produced or available in a current litter, someone decided to pass on a litter due to the timing and wait for a future litter, or someone changed to a different color / gender.
Please note : On litters that produce more than one color there is no guarantee as to how many of each puppy color / gender will be born in a litter. Occasionally, one color will be more predominant than the other two colors. Sometimes when I expect three colors in a litter there will only be two colors produced. In other words, there is always the chance of a specific color / gender not being produced in mixed color litters. It is totally in control by nature.
